Pro-Com Consulting is a communication, critical incident management and first response training company who develop and deliver tailored training programs to front line staff across the private, corporate and government sectors, both in Australia and abroad. We are a team of law enforcement professionals from specialist areas, including hostage and crisis negotiation, critical incident management, special operations, close personal protection, air security (air marshal), covert surveillance, behavioural detection and operational safety and tactics instruction. Pro-Com prides itself on its personal tailored approach for a broad range of clients based on their specific operational and compliance needs and risks. We work closely with each client during the program development phase and purpose build our programs to suit any application; from simple customer service to hostage negotiation. Although unique and specific, programs conform to current government guiding principles for training. Our Front-Line Adaptive Communication (FLAC) program is designed to fit the needs of staff who are increasingly faced with situations of occupational violence.

The program is built around a core of proven crisis negotiation principles, positioning and tactics. Pro-Com’s philosophy is ‘talk naturally, think tactically’ and uses the elements of adaptability, awareness, strategy and delivery in response to critical incidents. The success of the FLAC program has seen it rolled-out to Australian Border Force Nationally, local Government Council and compliance teams, AFL, Crown Resorts, metropolitan and regional hospitals, Airlines, Ambulance Victoria, Spirit of Tasmania, Metro Trains, VicRoads and many others. Progressing and building upon FLAC program is the First Response Negotiator Course (FRNC). This five day program affords organisations a negotiator response capability and provides selected staff with the skills to attend high-end negotiator incidents. The course is the first of its kind offered and allows for full integration with existing police negotiator units. The course is team oriented and intense and is followed by a skills enhancement and maintenance program to ensure competency and currency. The program is currently developing capability within the Australian correctional and immigration services field.

THE BENEFITS OF USING PROCOM CONSULTING

Success Rate

PCC strive for continuous improvement, attending to not only client expectation but closely monitoring participant feedback. Delivery and facilitation quality is assured through regular instructor workshops and program review with currency maintained through research and development. In 2017 our occupational violence prevention program won the Council for Ambulance Authorities (CAA) education award, the health Ministers award and the public sector leadership award. The program won the 2018 Prime Ministers award for people and change in the public sector. PCC courses often receive participant evaluations praising both the skills transferred but also the way in which the courses are facilitated. Recent additions of technology-based mediums such as the use of eBooks and virtual reality has also contributed to program success.

Highly Trained Personnel

PCC are privileged to hold a contingent of highly trained instructional staff all hailing from specialist law enforcement, military, correctional and health backgrounds. Skill sets required by clients calls for not only theory, but a practical application brought by instructors with proven track records in the field. PCC is able to provide instructional staff that are not only experienced trainers but that have been there and done it operationally for many years. Each facilitator brings their own wealth of operational experience to the group, delivering theory, exercise and technology-based training to develop capability in people. Our team members specialise in particular industries and skill requirements, including policy development, working together or individually, both in Australia and off-shore. PCC staff also possess skills and accreditations allowing for deployment to operational tasks as required such as surveillance, investigations, escorts and behavioural detection.

Personal and tailored approach

PCC understands that each client’s needs are different and based on the challenges faced within the particular working environment. PCC seeks to understand these needs by working closely with the client through the program development phase. Each engagement commences with a meeting to informally and confidentially discuss workplace difficulties, management expectations and staff training requirements. From here a training needs analysis and Q&A is conducted followed by operational observation and then the design of a specific training solution. Once reviewed and approved by the client the program is commenced. Throughout the delivery phase the program is reviewed using participant evaluations with project management including progress reporting, on call support and certificate issue.

PCC OFFER THIS EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE TO POLICING AND LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES LOOKING TO OUT-SOURCE SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND SPECIALIST TRAINING ITEMS. OUR TEAM NOW NOT ONLY CONSISTS OF THOSE WITH POLICE TRAINING AND OPERATIONAL BACKGROUNDS BUT ALSO JOINS FORCES WITH HIGHLY EXPERIENCED PSYCHOLOGISTS ENSURING DELIVERY OF THOROUGH AND WELL BALANCED PRODUCTS.

Q: AM I ABLE TO TAILOR A TRAINING PROGRAM FOR MY COMPANY?

Yes. PCC works closely with the client from the outset to design and build programs that suit the exact operational and workplace challenges faced with attention to the working environment, specific internal policy and with compliance regarding relevant legislation. This process starts with a visit to the workplace and then progresses through interviews, day to day operational observations and finally program build. Once a pilot course is delivered we enter a refinement phase followed by post-delivery participant evaluation.

Q: ARE YOUR TRAINING PROGRAMS AVAILABLE IN MY STATE/TERRITORY?

Yes. PCC deliver training programs all across Australia and even extend to some off-shore locations. In 2013 ProCom conducted training works for the immigration network on Christmas Island where the course was visited by the now prime minister Scott Morrison.

The PCC training contingent is a highly mobile team and regularly attend to clients in both metro and regional locations around the country catering for up to 6 courses concurrently. The team all possess training kit including IT and will set up in location and venue as provided by the client. Our electronic workbooks run with mobile WIFI to feed participant data at conclusion of training. Virtual reality is also portable and carried with the team if this is optioned in training.

Q: WHAT DO I RECEIVE WHEN MY TRAINING IS COMPLETE?

A signed certificate of completion for the participant and a post training and participant evaluation report for the client.
